There are dogs at home living happily with their owners. And there are many dogs in rescue centers, pounds, and shelters too. They are waiting for their chance to be a member of a family.
Every day many kinds of animals are found on the street, including dogs and cats. They are taken to places to wait for their chance of getting adopted.
One time, a newsperson walked into a shelter to say hello. One lovely pup saw that as his chance to get himself an owner.
The newsperson was not planning to adopt a dog that day. He was there to cover for a story, just like every day as part of his work. Moments after he walked into the store, he noticed the dog was walking towards him.
He did not have any treats with him that would have enticed the dog over. He just had his camera hung around his neck, ready for taking photos.
When the dog was near him, it jumped onto his legs. The pup hugged him fondly with a playful look, that encouraged the newscaster to reach down and pet him. He patted its head and caressed its ears.
The newscaster thought that the dog would stop after giving him a little attention. He stopped petting the pup for a while. But the sweet dog did not let go. The dog continued to hug the man’s leg.
The man was touched by the dog’s friendliness and decided to bring it home. The poor pup just wants to be cherished. Like other animals, it needed attention and love.
The dog seemed to need some company. The man was pleased with the dog’s character. He was not expecting to adopt a dog that day, but this sweet dog found him.
