Not all people easily cope with stress during the COVID-19 pandemic. And since most countries are under quarantine, people are concerned about how long this pandemic will last. Adults and children alike are not too happy about staying indoors for months now, and this four-year-old boy with nonverbal autism named Hayden is no different.
Hayden’s parents have noticed that the little boy has been struggling a lot during the quarantine in Northern Ireland. It’s quite understandable since Hayden is used to going out of the house. He is frustrated that he’s stuck inside, and his parents feel helpless whenever he’s having a meltdown.
Hayden’s parents thought they should do something to cheer up their son. And this is where Marley comes in. Marley is a Golden Retriever puppy who longs to have a family with whom he can play with and spend a great deal of time, and he’s about to have one soon.
Hayden and Marley’s first meeting was such a joy to see, and his parents caught it on camera. In the video, Hayden can be seen sitting inside the car, and he looked sad as he gazed out the window. But when his mom came near him with an adorable puppy in her hand, he smiled and reached out to hold the little pup.
Hayden could not hide his happiness when he realized that the puppy was a gift from his parents. He immediately took Marley on his lap and petted him. He knew he would have lots of fun times with his new friend, and he couldn’t wait to play with him inside their home.
Hayden’s parents are glad that Hayden is getting a lot better and having fewer meltdowns ever since they brought Marley home. They could not thank Marley enough for bringing so much joy to Hayden. Adopting him was undoubtedly the best decision they’ve made during the quarantine.
