Sleep Little Lambs – Watch How This Sheepdog Gets Lambs To Go To Sleep
They say that we should count sheep (or lamb!) so that we can go to sleep. That is what our parents told us when we were young. But I don’t think it worked.
In this story, though, the lambs are the ones who go to sleep. This story happens in this quaint farm found in Moorpark, California.
The story begins with Sage. Sage is a shepherd dog, and she has motherly instincts. She lives in Apricot Lane Farms, where she also works as the resident sheepdog. Apricot Lane Farms is a farm that produces organic products, and it can be found 40 miles away from the busy city of Los Angeles.
Watch the video, and you would see how this sheepdog can make a little lamb go to sleep. Sage does this by giving the lamb some dog licks. Soon, the little lamb falls asleep. Thanks to Kyle Romanek and John Chester, this dog’s skill has been captured on camera.
Looking at the whole thing, you would think that Sage is singing while he gives the little lamb those gentle licks. But, for sure, we all know that the sheepdog would not be doing that. But her licks are just like a mother singing a soothing lullaby to her baby because they have the same effect.
Sage is from the Great Pyrenees breed, and these dogs are known to be good dogs who know how to keep track of the herd or flock. They usually make sure that the animals under their care are kept safe. Farm owners even say that they choose dogs like Sage because they look at the animals they take care of as their own.
Sage is known not only for her skills in making lambs sleep. She also is a gentle dog who does her work well.
