Cosmo was a 130-pound Saint Bernard who was born in Nebraska. His previous owner was a breeder who surrendered him to the Hearts United for Animals for unknown reasons, and the poor dog had no idea why his owner gave him away. At first, he was confused with his new surroundings, but the shelter staff considered him as a loving and friendly dog.
While he already got used to living at the shelter, he still needed a place he could call home. So the shelter workers decided to post his profile on a pet adoption page for potential adopters reach out to them. Cosmo caught a New York couple’s attention. When they came across Cosmo’s photo, they immediately fell in love.
From New York, they flew to Nebraska so they could meet him. When they saw Cosmo, Jayne immediately decided to bring him home. At first, he was unaware what was going on, but he eventually realized that he was on his way to his new home. However, it wasn’t easy to take a 130-pound dog from Nebraska to New York, so Jayne had to come up with a bright idea.
After completing the adoption paperwork, she rented a car that could bring Cosmo to New York safely. He was initially uneasy, but he was able to enjoy the ride. When they arrived in New York, Jayne introduced him to his new family. He explored his new home and played with his two dog siblings.
He also met Jayne’s children, and they were thrilled to interact with their new furry friend. Days turned into weeks, and Cosmo learned to adjust to his new life. He loved napping on the couch and bonding with Poppy, his dog sister. Jayne was happy to see Cosmo in a larger space.
He got to spread out and rest his belly on the floor. Cosmo lives a happy and comfortable life. He puts his painful past behind and embraces his new family.
